Roswell Maternity Photographer | Natural Lifestyle Studio Session

Alycea made the drive from Roswell, GA to my photography studio in April for her maternity session with me! She was 37 weeks pregnant! Trooper! She was expecting her second baby and already had a three-year-old daughter at home. I had posted a model call on Facebook because I wanted to test out a new style for my maternity photography, and Alycea answered it! After this session, she even ended up booking her newborn session with me for baby Judith.

She also told me this was her first time ever having professional pictures taken. You would NEVER know it because mama was a natural and seemed so comfortable in front of the camera!

Soft and Natural Roswell Maternity Photography

This session was full of peace and calmness, allowing the focus to be on the amazing, natural process of growing life. Soft tans and ivories mixed with whites made for the sweetest color palette to keep the images delicate.

I placed a hand-crocheted lace blanket on the hardwood floor in front of a window with white drapes. The soft light from the window created the perfect environment for an intimate maternity photoshoot.

Mom sat on her knees and looked out the window, holding her baby bump in her arms. This cream maternity dress was perfect for the soft, natural, organic vibe we were going for.

Mom laid down on the ground to embrace her belly before changing into her next outfit.

What Mom Wore for Her Pregnancy Photoshoot

Next, we opted for an oversized white long-sleeve button-up shirt, leaving the belly out as the focal point. Mom traced her fingers alongside her belly, playing with her sweet baby inside.

My favorite image from this entire session was when mom looked out the window. She softly touched her baby bump as the light hit her skin. I’d hang this one on my wall in a heartbeat!

I love being able to mix different outfits and setups during one Roswell maternity photographer session so your final gallery has amazing variety!

Sleek, Sassy and Lil Sexy Maternity Portraits

After photos in front of the window, we moved over to a solid white backdrop for a different perspective. A little more sleek, sassy, and sexy.

I used a spotlight to create harsh light and shadows while mama sat on the floor. This gave the image a little more feeling and a completely different look from the soft window photos.

We finished off with maternity portraits in front of a bright white background for a glowy look.

I am in love with the way we mixed soft, sweet, elegant, and sexy all into one session. This maternity photoshoot was one for the books because it checked so many boxes and showed how beautiful pregnancy can be without feeling like we overdid it.

The goal was maternity portraits that felt a bit lifestyle and candid, a bit natural and organic, and still classic.
