Roswell Family Photographer | Family Session at Roswell Mill / Vickery Creek

Elaine and her family met me at Roswell Mill / Vickery Creek for another family session with me after several years of photographing their family. Mom originally found me through Google while looking for a Roswell family photographer, and it simply never gets old seeing these girls! She wanted natural photos of her daughters, ages 5, 3, and 20 months, in a gorgeous outdoor setting that she could display above her mantle.

This location was perfect for their family photoshoot with me, and I mean…a waterfall with three little girls ready to play?! YES PLEASE.

What This Family Wore for Their Roswell Family Photography

Mom wore a beautiful blue cascading maxi dress and put the girls in blue and pink dresses. Dad wore a navy blue button-up shirt and light khaki pants.

Let’s give mom a round of applause for the outfit styling!! It was the perfect amount of color to pop in the photos while keeping everything feeling soft and sweet.

Family Portraits of Kids Playing and Splashing

Before we let the girlies get all wet from splashing around, we stayed on dry land for a while. I had mom hold baby girl while dad stood behind her, and the two big girls stood in front holding hands. What a precious family portrait of everyone smiling! Minus baby- she was a hard cookie to crack LOL.

As soon as mom put baby girl down, she tucked herself right under mom’s legs, and I just love when kids do that. The feeling of safety and protection from mom and dad is such a universal experience, and I just HAD to capture that.

We had some fun with these girlies to keep the smiles going. We did ring-around-the-rosie, ran around, raced, had tickle fights, and did bear squeeze hugs…all the things. It makes for a super fun family photoshoot that showcases everyone’s true emotions as they are at this very age.

You know we had to toss a baby in the air! Dad held his little daughter up, and she beamed a grin across her face while spreading her arms to feel the air between her fingers.

Waterfall Family Photos at Vickery Creek

We reached the spillway waterfall at Roswell Mill / Vickery Creek and turned the energy levels to 1000. The waterfall is created by the historic mill dam, and the trails wind through the old Roswell mill area right near Historic Roswell. There is also a covered pedestrian bridge at the park, although we didn’t photograph at the bridge during this session.

I stood the family on the last patch of dry land before the water. Mom held baby girl as dad held their three-year-old, and their five-year-old daughter stood next to them. This was by far my favorite image from their entire family photoshoot!

Then it was time to have some fun splashing around. I hardly think there’s a better way to bring out smiles from a child than to tell them NOT to splash you. Imagine the grins that were had that evening!
