Family Photos at Ponce City Market in Atlanta, GA
Sandy and her family met me at Ponce City Market in Atlanta, Georgia for their family session with me. Mom had seen my model call looking for a family for my photography workshop in Atlanta and applied. As soon as I saw her adorable family, of course I picked her! She and her husband have two children, a three-year-old daughter and a nine-month-old baby boy.

Bright Colors for Their Family Photos
Mom dressed the family in coordinating colors of yellow, gold, green, blue, and tan. We tried to compliment the colors of the building. I don’t think the outfits could have come out better!
Their daughter wore a happy yellow tank top with blue jeans. Their baby boy wore a striped tank top with yellow, green, blue, and white.
We started the photoshoot at one entrance, featuring their sign on a brick wall. Foliage scattered on the ground hinted at the first signs of fall. Mom held their baby boy, and dad held their daughter. We did some tickling and bouncing to get those natural smiles.
I knew those weren’t the best smiles we could get, though. So I gave them more time to warm up to me as we headed to our next location.
We ended up in front of their iconic glass window with colored panes of blues, greys, whites, and oranges. It was the perfect backdrop for a happy family photo! I had mom and dad hunch down near the ground and have a big ol’ tickle attack. I just KNEW we could get better smiles, and what do you know?! Mission accomplished, if I do say so myself.
Candid Family Photos Around Ponce City Market
The most gorgeous white flowers featured a lovely portrait spot. I took their little girl aside and got the most darling photo of her big grin! I held baby brother while I snapped a quick photo of mom and dad together.
As we headed to the next location, I instructed everyone to hold hands while walking toward me. The rule was that nobody could look at me! That’s one of my favorite prompts when you want a happy, candid walking photo.
We made our way through Ponce City Market and stopped to get little lady a lollipop. I captured a quick photo as she stood under the fun lights hanging from the ceiling.
We found the most epic benches painted in a bright blue-green color. They matched their family outfits perfectly, and everyone sat down to snuggle and reset.
Their daughter needed a few minutes to regroup, so she sat in dad’s lap. Of course it took no time at all, and dad brought those smiles back out! Mom gave baby brother all the lovins and kisses, and he melted into a puddle of smiles.
Baby boy decided it was time to move and tried to crawl the heck outta dodge! His little mischievous giggle tells me everything I already knew. 😛
Before we left, I piled everyone together for Ponce City Market family photos as they giggled and played. I love nothing more than when a family can forget I’m there and get silly together.
