My dream of photographing triplets came true! The CUTEST session with neutrals, knit outfits and three little peas in a pod!
Mom and her newborn triplets came to my photography studio for their triplet newborn session with me! I photographed her maternity session a few months earlier. She originally posted in a local group that she was expecting triplets and looking for baby-related items she might need. We got to talking, and before we knew it, she came to my studio for both maternity photos and newborn photos! Before this family, the most multiples I had photographed was twins, so getting to photograph triplets was SO exciting for me.
Below I’m recapping their session for anyone in Atlanta looking for triplet or twins newborn photography with me, but head here if you want more details about my newborn photography!

A few months after their maternity session, all three babies arrived and it was finally time for their newborn photos!

When the babies arrived, we changed them, fed them, burped them, and attempted to get them asleep. Joke was on us, because it felt like they were never all 3 tired at the same time. Patience was key during this newborn session! It took a bit longer to settle them all down than my usual singleton babies.
Once they all fell asleep, I snapped photos of all 3 snuggled up in coordinating neutral knit outfits in shades of cream, tan, and beige. I placed them on a beige blanket with polka-dot textures. Brother in the middle and one sister on each side.

They were the most angelic baby dolls here. I couldn’t help but go overboard and take a million pictures from different angles! I also got individual portraits of each baby from overhead, from the side, and closeup.

One sister smiled in her sleep, while the other flashed me the cutest grin while she was wide awake and ready to party.

As soon as I heard the word “triplets,” I knew I needed to do a three peas in a pod setup. I grabbed pea-green felt fabric and green jersey knit fabric to swaddle the babies in matching wraps.
I put down a green backdrop and added a large wooden box to create the shape of the pea pod. I wrapped green felt around it, scrunched it into the pea pod shape, and of course added a little greenery for the vine on the end.

I could not love how the three peas in a pod setup came out any more than I do! The green color looked so gorgeous on their skin.
We got more photos with the babies wrapped in colorful blue, pink, and purple knit wraps with a little bow to complete the look. I placed a wooden crate on a wooden floor and added coordinating colorful layer blankets to match each wrap.
I’m so glad we got two separate setups with individual portraits of these triplets. As special as their bond with their siblings is, they are all individuals at the end of the day. Each baby deserve photos of themselves alone as babies. So thrilled we were able to capture it all!

While they were swaddled in blue, pink, and purple, I placed them together on a white blanket backdrop. These amazing wraps come from the most wonderful newborn prop shop – Three Little Giggles. I wrapped a white knit wrap around their bodies and topped it off with a bow for the complete package. As if a stork dropped the most precious little gift off for mom and dad!

I took the babies out of the colorful wraps. Then waddled them in matching white wraps with dainty white bow headbands for the girls.

Then it was time to hand them to mom. I placed a ruffled white maternity gown on the floor that resembles clouds and laid mom down with her arm stretched out. One by one, I placed the babies in her arms.
She placed her hand over them and I was able to capture this tender moment in time. If I had to pick one favorite image from this gallery it would be this one. This image with mom and her triplet baby miracles would have to take the cake.

After mom’s photo, it was time to hand them over to dad. He sat up and held them all in his arms. I can’t imagine how tired his arms must have been! We brought mama over for a family portrait too.

We finished with the babies on a white fur flokati. Brother wore a white knit romper. The girls wore coordinating pink lace and tulle romper dresses with matching pink pearl headbands. And that, my friends, completed their triplet newborn session!

This was the dream session of my lifetime, and I am so glad I got to check this bucket list session off my list! Maybe just maybe one day I’ll photograph quintuplets or even more!
