Alpharetta Newborn Photographer | Baby Ryder’s Neutral Studio Session

Newborn

Ryder’s family made the drive from Alpharetta to my photography studio in July for his newborn session with me at just 9 days old. This was their first session with me after Mom answered a model call. I needed a newborn baby for a mentoring session. Ryder’s dad is in the military, and the family had recently moved from Kansas. So I was the the first photographer they worked with in Georgia!

This sweet little guy was an absolute dream for his newborn photos. Even though he was a little gassy at times haha. Below I’m recapping Ryder’s session for anyone in Alpharetta looking for newborn photography with me, but head here if you want more details about my newborn photography!

We still managed to get a ton of great poses and images during Ryder’s neutral studio newborn session.

Newborn Session Outfits and Neutral Setups

We started off on my newborn posing table with a textured tan blanket. I dressed baby in a white crochet short-sleeve romper. We did this sweet “bum up” pose.

Then I put him on his back for headshots, aka mugshots, where he woke up and gave us the silliest faces.

He fell asleep again, and I put him in a side laying position as he snuggled into his little hands.

Next, we moved to my lifestyle area with soft white curtains draping over window light and a hardwood floor. I placed Ryder in a vintage crib that I scored at an antique store. I added delicate white textured blankets inside, too.

I placed him down on his back and let him naturally pose himself. I didn’t try to get him into any certain position. The light was so dreamy here!

I took him out of his adorable outfit which you can find from Carter’s. I wrapped him up in a cream knit wrap so we could see more of his tiny body. He curled up into a ball and resembled the cozy position he was in for so long in the womb. He even gave us a quick baby smirk.

Ryder’s Alpharetta Newborn Photos: Wraps, Buckets, and Tiny Details

Next, I unwrapped him and placed him in a wooden bucket on the hardwood floor with a light beige blanket underneath. I placed his head on his hands and captured a few quick angles.

Then I swaddled him in a white knit wrap in the peeky-toes style. I placed him on the same beige blanket on top of a wooden dough bowl. His little hands tucked under his chin melt my heart!

I took a second to take a few closeups of his precious piggies before changing his wrap style to the potato wrap. I placed him on a cream flokati fur backdrop to finish off the wrapped setups.

We ended with a profile portrait of his tiny facial features in front of a backlit, bright white backdrop to showcase his little details.
