Savannah drove from Sandy Springs for maternity photos, and I am beyond in love with how this session turned out!
Savannah made the drive from Sandy Springs to my photography studio for her maternity session with me and let me tell you how fun it was! I posted a model call on Facebook because I needed a pregnant mama for a mentoring day at my studio. Savannah answered it! I photographed this session in May when she was 21 weeks pregnant.
This gorgeous mom sent me photos of herself and applied, and BOY AM I HAPPY SHE DID!! She was a natural and made my job so easy. Below I’m recapping Savannah’s session for anyone in Sandy Springs looking for maternity photography with me, but head here if you want more details about my maternity photography!

Funny enough, Savannah works as an assistant for another local photography studio, so she is usually on the other side of the camera. Put her in front of the camera though and SHEESH! I am beyond in love with how this entire session turned out between the sets, her gorgeous face, the epic hair, and all of the different looks we created.
We started with one of the white maternity dresses from my client closet. I have a huge collection of maternity outfits that all of my clients get full access to at no additional cost. Whether you want a couture gown or something more simple and organic, there are tons of options in shades of white, cream, ivory, tan, greige, brown, and plenty of color too.
For Savannah, this white dress was perfect with the neutral ivory backdrop set. The soft fabric and lighter color let all of the texture in the background show without taking attention away from mama.

I also have plenty of accessories, jewelry, headpieces, and clothing options for partners and kiddos, so we can pull together an entire look for your Sandy Springs maternity photographer session without you having to figure everything out on your own.
One of the reasons I needed a model for this mentoring day was because I also wanted to photograph some backdrop sets from Fancy Props, a photography backdrop company that I’m an ambassador for.
We started with neutral ivory panels with a stone wall design. I arranged the panels in a few different ways to create walls, hallways, and corners so we could get plenty of variety without ever leaving the studio.

I had recently made some floral arrangements for a bridal photoshoot and decided to throw those in for a few photos. I’m so happy I did! The flowers and greenery looked so pretty against Savannah’s white gown and added just enough softness to the set.

We finished this look with one of my vintage, antique crochet blankets on the floor. I photographed mama sitting on a bench first and then moved everything around so she could sit directly on the floor for another completely different look.

After the first set, it was time to completely switch things up!
When Savannah applied for the model call, she sent me a photo of herself wearing this adorable black button-up top with her belly poking out. I immediately asked her to bring it along with some blue jeans because I knew it would be SO GOOD with the blue backdrops.

And yep. It scratched an itch.
The outfit, the colors, her poses, her facial expressions…all of it worked together. I started with one of my blue panel backdrops with this flower-like painted plaster design that I am absolutely obsessed with. I brought out a stool and loved how the tones worked with Savannah’s hair and skin.

Then we created a corner wall with the blue backdrop panels. Can we talk about how GOOD this looked?! And a moment for mama’s face through this whole set. She made posing look ridiculously easy.

We finished by throwing an oversized, long-sleeve white button-up shirt on her for a sexier look. One Sandy Springs maternity photographer session and we had already gone from soft and feminine to editorial, sassy, and sexy.

That’s one of my favorite things about studio maternity photography. We don’t have to choose just one version of you. We can mix classy, sweet, sassy, sexy, simple, and dramatic all into the same photoshoot.
If you would rather have your maternity photos outdoors, Sandy Springs has plenty of beautiful natural locations to choose from. Some options for maternity pictures are:
There are plenty of options if you want an outdoor Sandy Springs maternity photographer session instead of studio photos!

If you’re searching for a maternity photographer near me in Sandy Springs and love all the variety we created during Savannah’s session, I’d love to hear from you! We can keep everything soft and simple, go more editorial and dramatic, or mix in a little sassy and sexy too.
My photography studio gives us access to my client closet, huge backdrop collection, props, furniture, and plenty of different setups so we can create a maternity session that actually feels like you.
