Callum’s family drove from Atlanta for his newborn session! We celebrated this sweet miracle baby and honored their IVF journey!
Stacey and her family made the drive from Atlanta to my photography studio for baby Callum’s newborn session with me. She first came to me for maternity photos after being referred by her sister-in-law, whose photos I had also taken. She knew she wanted me to photograph her own baby as soon as she found out she was pregnant, which meant SO much to me!
Below I’m recapping Callum’s session for anyone in Atlanta looking for newborn photography with me, but head here if you want more details about my newborn photography!

I love when clients find me through referrals, and getting to photograph Callum after first documenting his mama’s pregnancy made this session even more meaningful.

We started by dressing baby boy in a soft blue sleeper outfit. The wood buttons and sleepy cap complete the outfit, if I may say so myself!

He was awake when we started, so I snagged some photos of his eyes. That isn’t something you can guarantee at newborn sessions since babies like to sleep so much.

Once he fell asleep, I posed him holding a sweet blue stuffy teddy bear. MY HEART! We got him laying on his side and on his tummy in the bum up pose. I snapped photos with his sleepy cap and some without so we could see his precious hair.

Next, I placed a bamboo rainbow bed from Rozzi Rayne Studio Props on a wooden floor with sage green curly wool and a matching pillow. He wore coordinating sage green pants and a sleepy cap. I thought it was too cute how his leg was hanging over the edge of the bed.

I changed him into a soft brown footed sleeper for another simple, classic setup. I used a wood floor, wooden crate, and soft tan blanket layer. His little hands were too cute nuzzled up next to his face.

Another special fact about this session is that this mama struggled with infertility before finding out she was pregnant with her miracle baby. She wanted to incorporate her infertility journey into these photos, so she brought her shots for us to use.
I laid a brown wooden bowl on a textured brown backdrop and placed the shots around the bowl. We even had Callum hold his ultrasound photo surrounded by all the many injections his mama gave herself. It was a full circle moment!

For his last setup, I wrapped him in a darling cream knit wrap with wooden beads tied in. His matching bonnet also had wooden beads around his face. Of course you know I had to give him a little cream stuffy bunny to hold onto.

Then it was time for family portraits! We dressed mama in a blue dress and got some of my favorite mommy and baby photos ever. Sweet mama holding her miracle baby — that will never get old to me.

We included dad and brought out a black backdrop to tie in the same black backdrop we used during mama’s maternity photoshoot. We got several poses of mom and dad with their precious miracle baby before snapping a few photos of just dad with his son.

We finished with dreamy backlit family images and detail shots of Callum’s hands and feet. Those were on mom’s picture bucket list, so of course they were top priority for me! Babies don’t keep, and they change so quickly.

I love getting to incorporate personalized parts of your story, just like we included this family’s struggle with infertility in this full-circle moment. If you would like to incorporate special items into your Atlanta baby boy newborn session, please don’t hesitate to mention it!

I love nothing more than showcasing your journey through this chapter of life.
My newborn sessions start at $395.
