Judith’s family drove from Roswell for her newborn session at 10 days old! In love with my new lifestyle set up in the studio!
Mom Alycea and her family made the drive from Roswell to my photography studio for baby Judith’s newborn session with me at just 10 days old. I had first photographed Alycea for her maternity session at 37 weeks pregnant. So getting to photograph her brand-new baby girl made this such a wonderful full-circle moment! Alycea had actually booked Judith’s newborn photos with me right after her maternity session.
Below I’m recapping Judith’s session for anyone in Roswell looking for newborn photography with me, but head here if you want more details about my newborn photography!

Mom Alycea, dad, and Judith’s three-year-old big sister all came along for the newborn photoshoot

My goal was to keep the colors neutral, the set timeless, and the lighting soft. The set was extremely simple, but classic and gorgeous. We used hardwood floors, a sand-textured backdrop in shades of tan and greige, and a window with soft draperies.
I placed an antique vintage crochet blanket on the wood floor and put a bench on top for seating. Of course there needed to be a hint of eye-candy for added texture, so I threw more crochet blankets on top.
Mom wore a cream-colored, floor-length, off-the-shoulder dress with eyelet lace. Three-year-old big sister wore a matching cream romper with eyelet lace detailing. Judith wore a hand-crochet newborn romper with a floral tieback headband, and dad kept it simple with a matching tan shirt and blue jeans.

I piled the family together on the bench so we could get them nice and close for their first portraits as a family of four! Mom held Judith while big sister sat in dad’s lap. Big sister was a little apprehensive at first, but she finally came around. I was so happy when she reached for baby sister’s head and even gave her a kiss!

One of my favorite photos is big sister sitting on dad’s shoulders while mom held Judith. It just reflects real life, and I don’t think I could love that photo more!

Later, I really wanted to keep things simple for Judith’s individual photos. A few antique fabrics, a wooden prop, and a window are all I need to create timeless photos that will never go out of style. Between the ivory hand-crocheted romper from Diva Props Shop and soft cream lace fabrics, this Roswell newborn photographer session was all things soft and sweet.

After family photos of all four together, it was time to split them up. We started with mama and her sweet little baby girl before big sister joined for photos with mama and both daughters. Big sister shared the love by giving Judith another kiss.

Next it was dad’s debut with his daughters. What a lucky man he is! I laid them on the floor and piled everyone together, which truly shows what a sweet, playful time of life this is for them.

We couldn’t forget about big sister’s time to shine, so we got sibling pictures of the two girlies together. I just love seeing the early stages of sibling relationships. They are just starting to learn each other with no idea they will be built-in best friends for life.

Judith was so awake and alert at one point that I felt like she was staring into my soul! It’s not often babies are so alert at this young of an age, so I was soaking in every second she was wide-eyed.
