Brianna and her husband drove from Marietta and turned up the heat for this glam, bold, & lil sexy studio session!
Brianna made the drive from Marietta to my photography studio in January for her first-ever maternity session with me. She found me on Facebook while looking for a maternity photographer. She came in on a chilly winter morning at 33 weeks pregnant with her second baby, a little girl named Navy. How great is that name? Love!!
Below I’m recapping Brianna’s session for anyone in Marietta looking for maternity photography with me, but head here if you want more details about my maternity photography!

This gorgeous expecting mama had visions of strong, sexy, and empowering maternity photos with her husband. I like to think we pulled off her request! She had professional hair and makeup done before the session. She came in confident and ready for her photos. Brianna also booked newborn photos with me. She later returned with baby Navy and her four-year-old daughter for their family newborn session.
We started the photoshoot with Brianna wearing my tan, long-sleeve tulle maternity gown. It has a slit down the front to show off her baby bump. This look felt very romantic and ethereal. Mom was a professional model in disguise and absolutely floored me with how natural she felt in front of the camera. Usually it takes a bit of coaching to guide mamas to the perfect pose. But this woman did the poses with ease. The first set of photos were more sweet and subtle poses to show off pregnancy in a delicately beautiful way.

Brianna also wore my mesh, rose-gold metal maternity dress with my textured brown backdrop sweep. I added a dramatic light to add depth and mood to these photos. I think this was the perfect combination to achieve her vision.
You don’t have to stress about what to wear when you come to me! I have a large client closet full of couture maternity gowns that are available to all of my clients! They are included with every session and there is no additional cost. I also have a huge collection of backdrops for just about any vision you may have when planning your Marietta maternity photographer session.

Next we spiced it up to bring the sexy into her maternity photoshoot. Of course I had mom and dad lather up in body oil to really help them shine and stand out in the image. The shiny glow of the body oil on their skin gave such a smoking-hot feel to these photos.

Mom took a few minutes to steal the spotlight, embracing her changing body, and then dad joined in. Posing was natural for the two of them and nothing felt forced.
I can’t help but get emotional looking at these photos because I can feel the love this man has for his wife. The way he holds her, the way he looks at her. I just know he makes sure she knows that his world revolves around her. The connection they share can be felt through the photos. That is why I truly love my job.
Maternity photos aren’t just for you to say cheese in front of a camera so you can say you took pictures while you were pregnant. The purpose of a maternity session should be to show the deep connections your family shares with each other. Plus, the anxious excitement you have before welcoming your little one into this world.

Last but certainly not least, I changed up the backdrop for a brighter feel and placed down my seamless paper backdrop from Savage Seamless.
Mom and dad stripped down to show some skin, and if I ever have a vote for what you should do at your maternity session…it’s this look! I will never get enough of black and white maternity images on a white backdrop. There’s something about a good ol’ classic white backdrop that allows the viewer to focus all of their attention on the subject. No other distractions in sight.
First I had dad kneel down and kiss mom’s belly and directed mom to look down at him. She gently placed one hand on his and the other over her chest.

Then I had mom put both her hands on dad’s chest, while dad put his hands in his back pockets. We snapped a few standing photos while showing off mom’s baby bump as the backlit lighting brought attention to their silhouettes.

Then I had Mom lay down on the ground, and dad hovered over her while doing a push-up, lips barely touching. I included a reflection that adds a hint of elegance to the photo.

The few final images before the last pose was my showstopper- my hanging maternity pose. This shot is where Mom is draped in a sheer, white fabric, dangling from my swing. Of course this shot is a composite and I do my magic in Photoshop for the result dramatic image.
This pose is a client favorite, and for good reason. The way the light sculpts around this mama’s pregnant body is pure art! I hope its hanging on a wall in their home right!

This pose is inspired by the classic story of the stork that carries the baby in, but this time mama is being cradled. It’s a unique way to add a different perspective to your maternity photos that will have all of your friends asking how you did that!
The final look for this session was timeless and classic. Mom posed against a pure white background and we used a sheer white fabric as an accessory.

This session was so much and my oh my we sure did get through soooo many different looks! When I released the proof gallery for this session, mom was OVER THE MOON! In fact, she left me this review!
“Kelsey Freeman deserves more than 5 stars!!! Her work speaks for itself but she also has this beautifully contagious spirit that made us both so comfortable in front of the camera. We had so much fun and cannot wait to return for a newborn family photos.
